In 2007 , father Michael Babu Jombas moved to Malindi as part of priestly vocational duty. However, through interactions with the community, he realized how majority of the locals were, especially the children and youth. Poverty was widespread

This prompted him to team up with like minded Christians in order to address these challenges. Initially, they organizing sporting and mentorship programs but realized, a much more permanent solutions were needed

This marked the beginning of Jombas Children’s with a mission “every child, every opportunity”. The goal was to end the cycle of poverty by providing basic necessities to children such as education, healthcare and food
